The Second Deputy Speaker of Lower House , Haitham Ziyadin, affirmed the “deep-rooted, historic and strategic” relations between Jordan and United Arab Emirates.

Ziyadin, who headed Jordan’s parliamentary delegation to the 145th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), currently being held in Rwanda, met with the UAE parliamentary delegation, headed by Ali Nuaimi.

Ziyadin and Jordanian delegation lauded the “high” level of Jordanian-Emirati relations, based on mutual respect and shared views on many issues of common concern.

The two sides commended bilateral relations as “longstanding” and offer prospects to develop in all fields, stressing the need to further strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries and increase visits due to their effective impact on all sectors, especially the economic areas.

On the Palestinian issue, they affirmed the “absolute” right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on their national soil.

The two countries’ lawmakers also touched on ways to provide support to the Iraqi people, which would reflect positively on their prosperity, development and growth.

For its part, the UAE delegation hailed His Majesty King Abdullah II’s wise visions, in light of the turbulent regional conditions, stressing the importance of strengthening parliamentary diplomacy tools to reach shared views and positions on many issues of common interest.
