3rd Phase of ‘My Land’ Project Launched with Significant Trainee Impact

Amman: The Vocational Training Corporation (VTC), in conjunction with the Ministry of Agriculture, has initiated the third phase of the "ARDI-My Land" project. This initiative is dedicated to enhancing on-farm and off-farm employment skills, aiming to empower youth and women throughout the Kingdom's governorates by equipping them with essential professional skills for the agricultural sector.

According to Jordan News Agency, the VTC released a statement on Thursday highlighting the project's goal to develop the capabilities of trainees through programs that integrate both theoretical and practical learning, with a special emphasis on modern agricultural technologies. This approach is designed to improve employment opportunities and productivity in this essential sector.

The "ARDI-My Land" project also emphasizes sustainable agricultural development and aims to bolster national food security, aligning with Jordan's Economic Modernization Vision (EMV). This vision is centered on cultivating productive sectors and enhancing the competitiveness of youth in the labor market, especially in strategic areas like agriculture.

Furthermore, the project focuses on developing agricultural training programs across various fields by emphasizing applied training environments. This prepares trainees for immediate entry into the labor market, contributing to the establishment of a sustainable agricultural sector that supports the national economy and aligns with the EMV's goals.

Nationwide, the project includes the execution of 61 training courses at VTC institutes, accommodating up to 3,100 trainees. These courses offer a blend of theoretical and practical training using the latest agricultural technologies. Trainees benefit from transportation allowances during training and receive a professional certificate to enhance their efficiency in the agricultural sector.

The project offers training in numerous specializations, including date palm and greenhouse farming, irrigation network installation, aquaponics, hydroponics, horticulture, nurseries and ornamental plants, pastry and pie industry, dairy production, chef's assistant, fruit and vegetable drying practices, and pickle and jam production.

Building on past successes, the project has already seen the graduation of around 2,000 young men and women in its first phase and 2,170 beneficiaries in the second phase, all equipped to work in the agricultural sector. Some alumni have successfully launched their own agricultural projects, demonstrating the project's positive impact on agricultural skills and the labor market.

The VTC and the Ministry of Agriculture are committed to empowering young men and women with practical skills to support the national agricultural sector and promote sustainable development.
