670 Jordanian Electricity Workers Complete Training on Labor Rights: GTUWE

Amman: The General Trade Union of Workers in Electricity (GTUWE) has announced the successful completion of its training program focused on labor rights and syndicate-related work for the year 2025, specifically targeting employees within Jordan's electricity sector companies.

According to Jordan News Agency, GTUWE revealed in a press statement that 670 employees from various companies in the electricity sector underwent training during the years 2023 and 2024. This initiative was supported by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) as part of the Arab-Danish Partnership Project, which spans from 2023 to 2027.

GTUWE President, Fakhri Ajarmah, highlighted the union's recent workshop themed "Occupational Safety and Health." This workshop, attended by employees from the Jordanian Electric Power Company (JEPCO), addressed key issues related to occupational safety and health management.

Ajarmah emphasized that GTUWE's strategic plan aims to broaden labor training and education by expanding the target group to include workers from various power companies. This initiative is designed to enhance the trainees' awareness and skills related to labor and union matters, with a focus on the Jordan Labor Law and its amendments, the social security system, and occupational health and safety aspects.
