A fire in an oil tank causes the disconnection of one of the power transmission lines in Basra

The General Company for Energy Transmission in the South announced that one of the wires of the Shuaiba-Petro 132 kV line had been cut off and disconnected from work, in addition to the exit of some lines affected by the incident of burning tanks in the Zubair district.

The company's media stated in a statement that: "A fire, whose causes are unknown, occurred yesterday evening, Thursday, in one of the tanks loaded with fuel behind one of the fuel stations in the area located near the step of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, and the rising flames led to the melting and cutting of one of the wires of the Shuaiba - Petro 132 kV line , and its separation from work, in addition to the exit of some lines affected by the accident and the severe condition of the paths on the network.

He added: "The company's staff went to the site of the accident and started processing and repairing the pieces in cooperation with the security forces present at the site."

In its statement, the company reassured citizens that all stations and lines, including the mobile Al-Khatwa stations, have not been exposed to any accidents and are operating in their normal condition.

A fire broke out in four tanks loaded with fuel behind Al-Khairat fuel filling station opposite the military neighborhood, and the civil defense teams were able to rescue three tanks and the burning of the fourth completely without casualties.
