Authorities Declare State of Extreme Water Emergency in Amman

Amman: The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) announced a state of emergency on Wednesday, categorizing it as an "extreme water pressure" alert. The measures are set to commence on Thursday morning, in anticipation of severe weather conditions expected to impact the Kingdom.

According to Jordan News Agency, municipal field teams are on high alert and ready to respond to any incidents reported through the Tla' Al Ali emergency operations room. GAM has encouraged residents to utilize the unified call center numbers, 102 and 117180, for reporting any emergencies.

GAM has also advised citizens to exercise caution by avoiding valleys, low-lying areas, and refraining from the random disposal of waste, which can obstruct rainwater drainage systems.
