Irbid: In a significant announcement, the Ministers of Government Communication, Economic Affairs, and Health revealed a series of pivotal Cabinet decisions in Irbid, focusing on economic growth and climate change initiatives. The announcement highlighted the number of citizens involved with the settlement committee, which totaled 4,204 applicants, with a valuation of JD133 million before fines totaling JD52 million. According to Jordan News Agency, Minister Momani shared key Cabinet decisions related to the Economic and Monetary Vision (EMV), the public sector modernization roadmap, and the political modernization system. A notable decision included an amended regulation under the EMV track to exempt profits from the export of goods and services from income tax for 2024. This amendment aims to stimulate various economic sectors, create job opportunities, and enhance the export balance, particularly in the digital economy and future services sectors. The regulation further specifies that net income from exp orting several services will be exempt until December 31, 2033. These services include computer services, various consultancy fields, pharmaceutical studies, information technology, and outsourcing, along with television and film production. Additionally, international arbitration services performed partially or fully in the Kingdom will be exempt, provided they meet specific criteria involving foreign elements. The Cabinet also announced Jordan's accession to several initiatives aligned with the upcoming COP29 of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). These initiatives include the Water for Climate Action Initiative, the Baku Climate Finance, Investment and Trade Initiative, the Hydrogen Agenda Initiative, and others focused on promoting climate action in tourism, digital action, and energy. Notably, the Baku Call for Climate Action for Peace, Relief, and Recovery was also highlighted as part of the broader climate strategy.
