Amman: The Cabinet Sunday approved the mandating reasons for the planning and international cooperation bill for 2023.

The bill, part of the modernisation of the public sector programme, aims to strengthen the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation’s position as the focal point in communication between all ministries and governmental and private institutions on the one hand and the donors on the other.

The bill would add new tasks to the Ministry’s work, including regulating the mechanism for obtaining international funding to non-profit associations and companies and following, developing Jordan’s economic policies and supporting policy-making in coordination and cooperation with all concerned parties.

Under the bill, the Ministry would manage the national register of government investment projects established under the provisions of the Partnership Projects Law between the public and private sectors of 2020.

The Ministry would develop and prepare development initiatives for the national economy, contributing to their financing in partnership with the implementing agencies and working on following them up and evaluating their impact.

The Cabinet approved the mandating reasons for a draft bylaw amending the bylaw for regulating and controlling billing affairs for 2023 after completing the electronic national billing programme that enables taxpayers committed to issuing invoices to join or link in to unify billing processes.
