NBA Power Forward Tiers: Giannis Antetokounmpo And Kevin Durant Are The Best Of The Best

Published by
Fadeaway World

By Eddie Bitar View the original article to see embedded media. Power forwards back in the day had to rebound, play defense, and do the dirty work that often did not appear on the stat sheet. While there were elite anomalies at that position in terms of being offensively skilled superstars, power forwards were generally regarded as big men who were tasked with playing hard. Of course, the modern power forward might be the most important position in the game because of floor-spacing. With centers in the middle, it is often the smart thing to do to have 4 shooters on the court at the minimum. Po…

The Final Reveal of Michael Jordan

Published by
Sports Illustrated

By Robert O’Connell Twenty years ago, MJ returned to the NBA hardwood as a Wizard, providing an essential glimpse into his unique greatness. Two months into the season, Michael Jordan looked bad. This is not to say he had looked bad for the whole of his first 26 games with the Wizards; that was a matter of some debate. The numbers were forgiving from some angles (23 points, six rebounds and five assists a night) and harsher from others (a shooting percentage that nudged just up above 40). The Wizards, who had set playoff qualification as a reasonable benchmark of comeback-season success, sat a…

View the original article to see embedded media. Slotting the top-ranked quarterback prospect to the team with the first pick is typically step one of creating an NFL mock draft. In fact, a quarterback has kicked things off in 18 of the past 24 drafts, including each of the past four years. After selecting Trevor Lawrence No. 1 last year, the Jaguars clearly won’t use the top pick on a quarterback again. Given how quarterbacks ar…

Leaders of Israeli settler groups are pushing for the Israeli government to demolish a Palestinian Bedouin village east of Jerusalem, local media and Palestinian observers have said. Settler leaders want the government to follow through on their plan to raze the village of Khan Al-Ahmar and re-install it some 300 metres away, Israeli media reported Tuesday. The Israeli supreme court gave the government the green light to demolish Khan Al-Ahmar in 2018, to international condemnation. Criticism grew louder after Israeli forces repeatedlyarrested and dispersed activists who protested the ruling. …

Jordan, UASS sign agreement to launch social work cooperation

Ministry of Social Development on Thursday signed a memorandum of partnership and cooperation with the Arab Union for Social Solidarity (UASS), affiliated to the Arab League’s Council of Arab Economic Unity (CAEU), aimed to launch cooperation in social, charitable and humanitarian work fields.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister of Social Development, Ayman Mufleh, said the MoU IS “important” and will have an impact on the ministry’s programs, by exchanging expertise and developing charitable and humanitarian action.

For his part, UASS Secretary-General, Nawaf Rumaih Al-Mutairi, pointed to the importance of signing the memorandum and benefiting from Jordan’s expertise in the voluntary and humanitarian work field, lauding the Ministry of Social Development’s efforts to raise the level of social work.

The memorandum aims to strengthen cooperation in social, charitable and humanitarian work, and build a “true” partnership in this field, based on productive institutional action that achieves sustainable development in social and charitable organizations.

Under the agreement, social work seminars are held to exchange joint “practical” expertise in this field and explore future cooperation prospects.

In addition, the MoU included cooperation in the field of integrating people with disabilities, by providing financial support to transform non-governmental accommodation agencies into inclusive day service agencies and supporting charitable projects.

Pan-Arab solidarity key to resolve challenges, realize development

Jordan is actively pursuing pan-Arab solidarity to address challenges facing the Arab world and bring about much-needed all-encompassing development through the region, Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Abdulkarim Dughmi said Thursday.

Addressing the 32nd conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) currently underway in Cairo, Dughmi said that pan-Arab solidarity is the only lever to overcome the crises and challenges facing the Arab world, which, according to Dughmi, has become an arena for conflicts, crises, and challenges.

The House Speaker warned that the “Arab system’s” resilience was receding after wars destroyed the infrastructure in some countries and displaced millions of refugees to different parts of the world, at a time when “the specter of terrorism and extremism is still striking.”

“Today’s world is experiencing a very complex conflict that is pushing towards a new international order, which will redraw the geopolitical maps in the world, especially in our Arab region in particular,” Dughmi indicated.

He said that Jordan managed, during the past years, to defeat terrorists at the military and intellectual levels, and today it is fighting a war with drug dealers who seek to spread this scourge in the Arab region and the Gulf states in particular.

The House Speaker indicated that the Israeli occupation is the prime danger to the region, which pushed it to the abyss of violence, and said that after decades of talking about peace, this only resulted in more oppression, racial discrimination and violation of rights.

In this context, Dughmi stressed that the Kingdom will continue to support the Palestinian people in their quest for freedom, reiterating the Kingdom’s stance that the only solution to the Palestinian issue is the two-state formula.
