The Minister of Electricity holds a vital meeting to discuss the implementation of Siemens’ contractual obligations with the Ministry for the year 2024

Baghdad, The Minister of Electricity, Engineer Ziad Ali Fadel, chaired today, Sunday a meeting with Siemens Company to discuss the implementation of contractual obligations with the Ministry regarding the necessary and agreed upon maintenance.

The Minister said during the meeting that we are charged with keeping up with demand and completing projects, and that there are agreements that have been concluded to implement maintenance projects for the Kirkuk and Rumaila stations, Al-Rashid Al-Ghaziya station, and the rehabilitation of the second Baiji gas station.

The Minister pointed out a number of basic points, including the importance of completing maintenance work for the Kirkuk Gas Electricity Production Station units (K1, K2, K3) within the prescribed time limits, which are before next summer.

He stressed the need to enhance the appropriations, follow up the investment plan amounts, and follow up on what was included in the funds allocated to the government program.

He stressed the importance of completing the manufacturing of the necessary equipment and spare parts and following up their delivery and shipment to the work sites. He stressed the need to intensify and multiply the working maintenance teams to speed up completion, and simultaneously in other stations.

He pointed out that full examinations of the reality of the units to be maintained were conducted, a complete schedule was prepared for the maintenance of the five units at the Rumaila gas station, and accelerating the completion of the first and second units as a maximum, stressing the importance of following up on the arrival of the equipment shipped to the Rashid gas station and commencing work.

They also discussed starting work on rehabilitating Baiji Gas Station No. 2, and the necessity of developing a specific program to begin returning it to work.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister meets with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Kingdom of Bahrain

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today met with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Kingdom of Bahrain, HE Clemens Augustinus Hach, at Gudaibiya Palace.

His Royal Highness highlighted the strength of Bahraini-German relations, noting the importance of consolidating the bilateral partnership across all levels to achieve mutual aspirations.

His Royal Highness was extended an invitation by HE Hach to attend the 2024 Munich Security Conference.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister noted the role of international conferences as platforms to consolidate peace, dialogue, and diplomatic efforts to resolve conflicts and promote security and development for all.

During the meeting, issues of common interest and regional and international developments were also discussed.

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad went on to highlight the course of the Bahraini-German partnership, and the importance of furthering relations to benefit both countries and their peoples.

For his part, HE Hach expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet with His Royal Highness, noting His Royal Highness’ commitment to furthering bilateral relations, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity.

The Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, also attended the meeting.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister meets with the newly appointed President of the Civil Service Bureau

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today met with the newly appointed President of the Civil Service Bureau (CSB), Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa, at Gudaibiya Palace.

His Royal Highness highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to furthering the national workforce’s contributions to Bahrain’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister noted Team Bahrain’s pivotal role in developing public sector work streams, adding that their relentless efforts across all sectors are a great source of pride for all.

His Royal Highness congratulated Shaikh Daij bin Salman on his new appointment, noting his expertise and vast experience within the government and private sectors. HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister wished him success in carrying out his duties and achieving the CSB’s far-reaching goals.

His Royal Highness affirmed the CSB’s role through its organisational efforts across government agencies, which supports Bahrain’s workforce through furthering efficiency and productivity.

For his part, Shaikh Daij bin Salman expressed his gratitude and appreciation for meeting HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and noted His Royal Highness’ commitment to developing the government workforce and supporting all initiatives that enhance their capabilities for excellence and creativity, which reflects positively on the government’s performance.

The Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, HE Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, also attended the meeting.

HM’s Special Representative receives ECSSR Vice President

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, the Special Representative of His Majesty the King, received Dr. Jamal Sanad Al Suwaidi, Vice President of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR), who presented a copy of his book ” HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan: Highlights in the Journey of a Visionary Leader.”

HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak praised the deep-rooted Bahraini-Emirati ties and their development in various fields.

He commended Al Suwaidi’s academic contributions to research and studies in many Gulf, Arab, and international topics, wishing him continued success.

Dr. Al Suwaidi expressed his thanks to HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak for his support.

He wished Bahrain further progress and prosperity.

Foreign Minister receives British ambassador to Bahrain

Manama, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Alastair Long, British Ambassador to Bahrain.

They discussed strengthening Bahraini-UK relations and ways to enhance cooperation.

They also reviewed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and exchanged views on ending the war, protecting civilians, and providing humanitarian aid.

Ambassador Ahmed Ibrahim Al Qurainees, Chief of European Affairs, attended the meeting.

Information Minister receives South Korean Ambassador

Manama, Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Information Minister, received HeonSang Koo, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the media field to meet the aspirations of the two countries and their peoples in this regard.

The Information Minister affirmed the depth of the long-standing friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries, stressing that the steady progress of joint cooperation reflects their shared desire to achieve common goals.

Dr. Al Noaimi commended the efforts exerted by the ambassador to bolster bilateral cooperation, wishing him continued success in undertaking his diplomatic duties.

The ambassador expressed thanks and appreciation to the Information Minister, noting that his country is interested in broadening its cooperation with the kingdom across various fields.

He also praised the progress witnessed by the kingdom in all sectors, particularly media, wishing Bahrain and its people further progress and prosperity.

Shura Council First Deputy Chairman participates in NAM PN meeting

Luanda, Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, First Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council, has participated in the meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network (NAM PN), which was held today on the sidelines of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU)’s 147th Assembly and related meetings, hosted by Angola.

Fakhro called for strengthening NAM PN’s role and presence in parliamentary gatherings to showcase its stances regarding regional and global events, stressing that the NAM PN should adopt a position that supports the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, as well as condemns Israel’s blatant aggression on the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The Shura Council First Deputy Chairman commended the efforts made by NAM PN Chairperson, Sahiba Gafarova, to enhance the Network’s work, expressing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s support for Azerbaijan’s hosting of the headquarters of NAM PN’s Secretariat-General.

Public Security Chief attends “Officers Days” event

Manama, Chief of Public Security Lieutenant-General, Tariq bin Hasan Al Hasan attended the “Officers’ Days” event. A total of 180 officers from the Interior Ministry’s directorates attended the event.

Chief of Public Security asserted that the event came as per the instructions of Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa to professionally prepare policemen according to the latest training programmes and equip them with the latest technologies to face challenges and risks and to provide the best services for citizens and residents.

The Chief of Public Security pointed out that the Ministry works on investing in technological development and artificial intelligence and linking them to police work to keep pace with the challenges.

He added that the Interior Ministry has adopted the concept of smart police and worked to expand the use of artificial intelligence in smart cities and the use of smart systems in the ministry’s projects.

Chief of Public Security stressed that in addition to the positive advantages of artificial intelligence, there are risks and negative effects on security, as criminals are able to exploit artificial intelligence techniques and applications in organised crime, which requires preparing strategies for the future to cope with these challenges, qualifying human cadres, raising police performance and exchanging expertise to achieve the desired security goals.

Al Hasan appreciated the attendees’ discipline and their keenness to achieve the maximum benefit, wishing everyone success.

The event featured a lecture by Ameen Altajer, the CEO of INFINITEWARE, during which he gave an explanation of the concept of artificial intelligence and its stages and development and some related programmes such as CHAT GPT.

The event also included a lecture given by Mohammed Bualai on “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Policing”, during which he explained the role of the applications in security surveillance operations, reducing accidents and enhancing quick response in emergencies.

HH Shaikh Nasser hails HM King’s humanitarian efforts in support of Palestine

Manama, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs expressed his thanks and appreciation for the recognition of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Honorary President of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), for the efforts of the foundation in delivering relief aid to the Palestinian people.

His Majesty the King has thanked all those who have contributed in the delivery of aid, during a visit to the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF). HM the King affirmed that Bahrain will stand by Palestine in those dire conditions, and hoped for security and peace in the region and the world.

HH Shaikh Nasser said that the recognition of HM the King’s of the success of the initiatives to dispatch urgent aid to the Palestinian people in Gaza, was a source of motivation to continue those efforts with utmost commitment.

HH affirmed that the support of the HM the King for this mission reflected the firm stance on supporting the Palestinian cause and the people of Palestine in Gaza in their ordeal during the ongoing war in Gaza, as well as His Majesty’s efforts to promote security and peace globally.

HH added that this mission also reflected Bahrain’s approach on consolidating international solidarity and fostering humanitarian ties that bond the people of the world.

HH commended the support of the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for the RHF and the Bahraini National Committee to Support Palestinian People in Gaza.

HH Shaikh Nasser praised the efforts of the committee led by Dr. Mustafa Al Sayyed, RHF Secretary-General and expressed gratitude to the donors and contributors to the campaign led by the committee.
