Caracas: An oil tanker chartered by the US oil giant Chevron resumed exports of Venezuelan oil on Monday, following a four-day suspension caused by US intervention in Caracas, according to shipping data.
According to Anadolu Agency - English, in light of an ongoing oil embargo, US President Donald Trump confirmed on Saturday that the embargo remains in place after the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. Chevron is currently the only company permitted by Washington to export Venezuelan crude.
Ship monitoring data indicated that Chevron's tankers had not departed for the US in recent days due to the US military operation. Maritime statistics platform TankerTracking.com reported that approximately a dozen tankers carrying Venezuelan fuel and oil left the country's waterways after the attack, with their transponders turned off.
