London: His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II on Tuesday met with Speaker of the UK House of Commons Sir Lindsay Hoyle and Chair of the House's International Development Committee Sarah Champion, according to a royal court statement.
According to Jordan News Agency, during the two meetings held in London, the Crown Prince commended the deep-rooted ties between Jordan and the United Kingdom. He expressed his pride in the level of cooperation between the two countries in political, economic, and educational fields, and emphasized Jordan's readiness to expand technological cooperation.
Discussing regional developments, His Royal Highness praised the UK's recognition of the State of Palestine and urged stepping up efforts to achieve just and comprehensive peace on the basis of the two-state solution. The Crown Prince emphasized the importance of ensuring implementation of the agreement to end the war in Gaza in all its stages, noting that the priority in the current stage must be to deliver aid given the critical humanitarian situation in the Strip.
His Royal Highness also highlighted the need to support UNRWA, which serves as a lifeline for many Palestinians. Jordan's Ambassador to the UK Manar Dabbas and Director of the Office of the Crown Prince Zaid Baqain attended the meeting.
