Amman: The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts (RACA) and the Swiss Embassy in Amman have entered into a cooperation agreement to initiate the Enabling Learning and Employment through Vocational Advancement and Technical Education (ELEVATE) program. The signing ceremony took place at the academy's premises and was attended by Swiss Ambassador to Jordan Emilija Georgieva, RACA Chairman Wajih Owais, RACA Director Jacques Rossel, and representatives from government, education, and international development institutions.
According to Jordan News Agency, the agreement underscores a commitment to providing high-quality vocational education and training throughout Jordan. This initiative, funded by the Swiss government, is designed to enhance the skills and employability of Jordanian youth in the hospitality, food, and beverage sectors, with RACA taking the lead in training implementation and quality assurance.
The three-year project will be implemented in collaboration with the Vocational Training Corporation (VTC) at designated centers outside Amman. The program focuses on curriculum modernization, trainer qualification, and equipping young Jordanians with the necessary skills to thrive in the private sector's hospitality industry.
Owais highlighted that the agreement is a testament to the shared dedication to empowering Jordan's youth through education and training, ultimately leading to meaningful employment opportunities and contributing to sustainable national development. Georgieva echoed this sentiment, noting that the partnership aligns with Jordan's modernization vision and national priorities in youth development and employment.
Established in 2008 under the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, RACA is a technical university college currently partnered with the Ecole h´teli¨re de Lausanne (EHL), recognized as the world's leading university in hospitality management. The academy aims to usher in a new era of culinary and hospitality education in Jordan, grounded in Swiss standards of innovation, sustainability, and leadership.
