Amman: Minister of Education Azmi Mahafzah met with the Georgian Ambassador to Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon, Archil Dzuliashvili, to discuss bilateral cooperation and ways to enhance ties, particularly in the education sector.
According to Jordan News Agency, Mahafzah highlighted the ministry's development plans and initiatives aimed at advancing the educational process. He emphasized the importance of the strong partnership between the two countries and the need for continued collaboration.
Mahafzah also pointed out the existing cooperation in higher education and suggested increased coordination between Jordanian and Georgian universities to expand joint educational programs. He mentioned that approximately 51,000 foreign students are currently enrolled in Jordanian universities.
The discussions also included the possibility of signing an executive program to facilitate cooperation in higher education, focusing on addressing challenges faced by Jordanian students in Georgia and Georgian students in Jordan.
Dzuliashvili praised the strong educational ties between the two countries and noted the achievements of Jordan's educational institutions, acknowledging their esteemed standing at the Arab, regional, and international levels. He expressed Georgia's commitment to further strengthening and expanding these relations.
