Extraordinary Arab Summit Begins in Cairo

Cairo: Lebanese President Michel Aoun reaffirmed that Israel continues to occupy Lebanese territory, emphasising that peace will not be achieved without the liberation of every inch of Lebanese land, the establishment of the State of Palestine, and the restoration of the Palestinians' legitimate rights. He stressed that while Lebanon has endured significant hardship, it has learned from its experiences and refuses to be a target for the wars of others or a base for foreign influence policies.

According to Jordan News Agency, Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid warned of the "disastrous" consequences of projects that undermine the Palestinian cause. He called on the international community to firmly confront attempts to displace Palestinians from their land. Rashid urged immediate action to rebuild the Gaza Strip, advocating for the establishment of a fund to support this effort and intensifying efforts to deliver medical and humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people. The Iraqi president reiterated his country's strong support for the Egyptian plan to rebuild Gaza and emphasised rejection of any attempt to relocate Palestinians from their land.

Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani condemned the atrocities committed against the people of Gaza, stressing that such acts require intensified efforts to uphold the ceasefire agreement. He called for ensuring the full implementation of the ceasefire's provisions and stages and for working towards adopting the "two-state solution" as the foundation for lasting peace in the region.
