Amman: Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi and Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski engaged in a telephone conversation on Tuesday to address the escalation in the region and discuss efforts to mitigate tensions.
According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi and Sikorski emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to reduce tensions and return to negotiations focused on reaching a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue. Safadi condemned Israel's actions against Iran and warned of potential fallout. He urged for increased international efforts to end Israeli aggression in Gaza, highlighting Jordan's support for ongoing initiatives by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States to facilitate a prisoner exchange agreement.
Safadi expressed concern over the international community's neglect of the dire conditions and famine resulting from Israeli actions in Gaza, cautioning against sidelining efforts to end this aggression amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran. He advocated for international action to protect peace prospects by halting Israel's measures in the occupied West Bank, which threaten the two-state solution.
The conversation also underscored the strong ties between Jordan and Poland, with both diplomats committing to continued efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation.
