GAZA CITY: Four Palestinians from Gaza were reported killed in Israeli prisons, according to statements by the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) and the Commission of Detainees Affairs (CDA). The latest deaths have raised significant concerns among Palestinian authorities regarding the treatment of detainees in Israeli custody.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Palestinian Prisoner's Society and the Commission of Detainees Affairs announced on Monday that the deceased prisoners are Muhammad Akka, aged 44, Samir Kahlout, 52, Zuhair Sharif, 58, and Muhammad Labad, 57. This announcement brings the total number of Palestinian prisoners reported dead in the past 24 hours to five.
The PPS and CDA expressed grave concerns over what they described as an "escalating humanitarian catastrophe." Their statement accused Israeli authorities of systematically and publicly liquidating prisoners, highlighting a lack of regard for human rights and dignity. These claims have heightened tensions and underscored ongoing disputes over the conditions faced by Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.
The deaths are expected to draw further attention from international human rights organizations, which have previously raised alarms over the conditions in which Palestinian detainees are held. Palestinian advocacy groups continue to call for increased scrutiny and intervention from the international community.
