GAM Relocates 86 Stalls for Al-Mahatta Passenger Terminal Project

Amman:The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) has announced the relocation of 86 street stalls affected by the new Al-Mahatta Passenger Terminal Project. This decision comes as part of a strategic initiative to enhance the capital's public transport system.

According to Jordan News Agency, alternative locations for the stalls have been secured within less than 500 meters from their original sites. These new venues are situated in areas designated for alternative public transport routes and the temporary Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) station. Meanwhile, 104 stalls that are outside the project's boundaries will remain in their current locations.

The Al-Mahatta Passenger Terminal Project, executed at a total cost of JD33 million in partnership with the Ministry of Transport, aims to provide more efficient transport services and improve the city's aesthetic appeal. Currently, the construction of the new kiosks has reached a 55 percent completion rate.

The GAM has developed standardized designs for single, double, and quadruple unit stalls to accommodate various commercial uses. These designs adhere to the highest international standards and specifications. The alternative stalls are strategically stationed near relocated transit routes to ensure smooth movement for passengers and support commercial activity in the area.
