Ajloun: Minister of Health Feras Hawari inaugurated the Ebbin and Ablin Primary Health Center in Ajloun, northern Jordan, on Saturday, underscoring the government's dedication to modernizing the healthcare sector and enhancing services across hospitals and health centers nationwide.
According to Jordan News Agency, during the opening ceremony, Hawari highlighted the health ministry's strategic plan, which aims to expand healthcare services both horizontally and vertically, thereby solidifying Jordan's status as a leader in medical services. The minister stressed the urgency with which the ministry is working to replace rented health center buildings with permanent structures owned by the ministry, ensuring sustainable services and an improved operational environment. The newly opened center is a testament to the ministry's commitment to addressing the healthcare needs of citizens in various governorates.
As part of the comprehensive healthcare improvement initiative for Ajloun, the ministry has also elevated the status of the Ras Munif Health Center from a subsidiary to a primary center.
Omar Momani, President of the Ajloun Governorate Council, stated that the Ebbin Primary Health Center was constructed at a cost of JD1 million, forming part of the council's projects aimed at enhancing medical services in the region. He confirmed the council's dedication to supporting health facilities and disclosed a JD70,000 allocation for the creation of an X-ray room at the center.
Ajloun Health Director Akef Al-Sleihat emphasized that the center's construction was supported by the governorate council, while furnishings and equipment were supplied by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). The center serves a population of approximately 22,000 residents in Ebbin and Ablin, offering services such as general medicine clinics, dental care, maternity and child health services, laboratory testing, and a pharmacy.
