House Passes Two Bills to Regulate Jordan’s Construction and Real Estate Sectors

Amman: The Lower House of Representatives approved by majority the amended Jordanian National Construction Law and Law Regulating the Surveying Profession and Real Estate Offices for the year 2024. The endorsement came during a House session Wednesday, headed by its Speaker Ahmed Safadi, and attended by members of the government team. According to Jordan News Agency, the amendments to the Jordanian National Construction Law aim to enhance the role of relevant councils to maintain public safety and ensure smooth operations. This legislative move is expected to bring more stringent oversight and regulation to the construction industry, emphasizing safety and operational efficiency. Meanwhile, the second bill's amendments are focused on regulating the real estate sector's activities. This includes setting fees collected by the industry's agencies and determining penalties imposed on violators. The changes are intended to create a more structured and accountable framework within the real estate market, ensuring fair practices and adherence to regulations.
