A massive explosion rocked a chemical plant in the US state of Louisiana late Friday night, without specifying the extent of the damage.
US media reported that at least 6 explosions occurred at the "Dow" chemical plant in Louisiana.
State and local officials said the massive Dow chemical complex caught fire late Friday night and saw several explosions, forcing about 350 nearby families to take cover inside their homes.
The explosion occurred at Dow's Gylcol 2 unit, which handles the powerful, highly flammable and carcinogenic chemical ethylene oxide, reported theadvocate, which noted that Dow officials had been conducting air surveillance throughout the course of the incident.
No injuries have been reported so far, and the cause of the accident is still unknown.
