Beijing: Investment Minister Tareq Abu Ghazaleh on Thursday concluded a working visit to China, after holding "high-level" meetings with economic institutions and Chinese and international companies, and visiting industrial and technology facilities.
According to Jordan News Agency, Abu Ghazaleh attended the inauguration of the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) in Beijing as an honorary member. The Ministry of Investment presented a working paper showcasing Jordan's investment environment, inviting Chinese and international firms to explore opportunities in renewable energy, value-added industries, logistics, infrastructure, mining, and food industries.
The minister emphasized Jordan's investment privileges, positioning it as a regional hub for business, logistics, and investment, supported by its strategic location, stability, regulatory reforms, and extensive trade agreements. Additionally, Abu Ghazaleh met with Ren Hongbin, Chair of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the organizing body of the expo, alongside representatives of major Chinese economic institutions.
His tour featured meetings with leading Chinese companies, including Cainiao Smart Logistics Network and Sinofert and Sinochem Holdings. He toured a bus manufacturing facility supplying Jordan's Southern Badia school transportation project, discussing investment opportunities in the Kingdom's transportation sector.
He also visited Xiong'an New Area, reviewing China's smart city and urban planning experience, exploring ways to attract investment to Jordan under the Economic Modernisation Vision (EMV). The minister noted that the visit strengthened engagement with Chinese institutions and business leaders, opening new avenues for cooperation.
The ministry will follow up on the visit's outcomes to create investment projects and partnerships that support economic growth and job creation in Jordan.
