Amman: Minister of Awqaf (Islamic Endowments), Islamic Affairs and Holy Places Mohammad Khalaileh patronized on Thursday the graduation ceremony of the fourth foundational firefighting course for employees of Al-Aqsa Mosque, held at the Jordanian International Civil Protection Center. The course is part of Jordan's ongoing efforts to enhance safety and protection measures at Al-Aqsa Mosque and improve the preparedness of personnel to respond to emergencies, safeguard worshippers, and preserve the mosque's facilities and holy sites.
According to Jordan News Agency, the program reflects coordination among Jordanian institutions in serving Al-Aqsa Mosque, with Khalaileh praising the Public Security Directorate's (PSD) role in training and qualifying mosque personnel according to the highest professional standards. He highlighted that the efforts align with the care and attention devoted by His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Hashemite Custodian of Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, to preserving Al-Aqsa Mosque, protecting its Arab and Islamic identity, and strengthening measures that ensure its protection and continued religious and cultural role.
Participants completed a comprehensive training program covering theoretical and practical firefighting skills, public safety and prevention procedures, the use of firefighting equipment, and emergency response mechanisms. The course also included field exercises simulating real-life scenarios to enhance operational readiness.
At the end of the ceremony, certificates were awarded to graduates who completed the course requirements. Participants expressed appreciation to the PSD and Civil Defense for providing specialized skills and expertise that support safety and prevention measures at Al-Aqsa Mosque. The PSD has conducted a series of specialized training courses in firefighting, safety, and prevention for Al-Aqsa Mosque employees in recent years as part of its ongoing support for efforts to protect Islamic holy sites and enhance the preparedness of their staff.
