JCDC Releases Final Report on National Non-Communicable Diseases Survey

Amman: The Jordanian National Centre for Epidemics and Communicable Diseases Control (JCDC) has launched the final report detailing the results of the National Non-Communicable Diseases Survey. This comprehensive report was prepared and implemented in collaboration with relevant national institutions.

According to Jordan News Agency, Dr. Adel Belbeisi, head of JCDC, emphasized that non-communicable diseases pose a significant challenge to health systems both globally and within Jordan. These diseases are primarily responsible for morbidity and mortality rates worldwide, including in Jordan. Dr. Belbeisi highlighted that the report is a crucial step toward developing health policies that are grounded in scientific evidence. It also aims to enhance collaboration among the concerned parties to ensure a robust response that focuses on preventing these diseases and mitigating their risk factors.

Dr. Belbeisi stressed the importance of prevention and early preparedness as foundational strategies in addressing health challenges. Looking ahead, he expressed JCDC's commitment to working with partners from various sectors, both locally and internationally, to integrate effective health policies and practices. This collaboration is aimed at bolstering the capacity to tackle this significant health challenge.

He also noted the importance of sharing the report with Jordan's decision-makers and relevant entities to ensure the implementation of effective practices and to strengthen national strategies for the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases. These diseases also present an economic burden on health systems. To tackle these issues, Dr. Belbeisi called for adequate measures focusing on prevention, early diagnosis, and efficient treatment.
