Amman: As part of Jordan's ongoing humanitarian efforts in the Gaza Strip, the Doctors Committee for Jerusalem met with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) on Thursday to discuss ways to enhance and coordinate relief and medical assistance provided to the region.
According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting was held at JHCO's headquarters, where Director General Hussein Shebli highlighted the organization's efforts since the onset of the aggression in the strip. He emphasized JHCO's role in delivering relief, humanitarian, and food aid, as well as supporting critical health sectors. These efforts are conducted under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, with support from the Jordanian Armed Forces and the Jordanian government, despite challenges and obstacles imposed by the Israeli occupation.
Mohammed Tarawneh, the committee's chairman, commended JHCO's humanitarian role and expressed appreciation for His Majesty's directives, which position Jordan as a leader in supporting humanitarian issues. Tarawneh emphasized the significance of partnership and cooperation among Jordan's civil society institutions, primarily professional associations, in supporting JHCO's continuous vital activities.
In conclusion, Tarawneh reaffirmed the committee's commitment to enhancing future joint cooperation and coordination to ensure aid delivery through JHCO's channels. He stated that all the committee's capabilities would be utilized to support JHCO's operations, demonstrating Jordan's official and popular solidarity towards the Gaza Strip.
