Jordan Engages in China-Arab Policy and Capacity Building Network Launch.

Beijing: Jordan has taken a significant step in international collaboration by participating in the launch of a China-Arab network dedicated to policy research and capacity building. This development was marked by a symposium in Beijing, which saw the participation of leaders from the public sector across Arab countries, China, and various international organizations.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Service and Public Administration Commission (SPAC) announced that the network, developed in coordination with the Middle East and North Africa for Public Administration Research (MENAPAR), the International Institute of Administrative Sciences, and the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration, aims to enhance cooperation in development, governance, and policy research.

The initiative is driven by the Chinese National Academy of Governance and includes a wide range of members from government agencies, administrative schools, think tanks, and universities in both regions. SPAC Ch
airman Sameh Nasser, speaking at the symposium, reiterated Jordan’s commitment to political, economic, and administrative reforms, highlighting the Public Sector Modernization Roadmap as a key framework for these efforts.

Nasser emphasized the role of the SPAC in promoting governance, transparency, equal opportunities, and adherence to policies aimed at modernizing public administration and services. He highlighted Jordan’s dedication to building partnerships within the network to enhance public sector performance and acknowledged the strong historical ties between Jordan and China, particularly China’s support for Arab issues like the Palestinian cause.

On the sidelines of the symposium, Nasser held discussions with the Vice President of the Chinese National Academy of Governance and representatives from the Jordanian Embassy in Beijing. These discussions focused on joint cooperation and included an invitation to the academy to participate in the ninth MENAPAR conference in Amman next April.

During his vi
sit, Nasser explored China’s advanced use of technology in governance, noting its importance in improving efficiency and service delivery through strategic planning. The Jordanian delegation also engaged with Ambassador Hussam Husseini and military attaché Brigadier General Muwaffaq Khalifat to discuss mechanisms for strengthening collaboration with China’s National Academy of Governance.
