Jordan Showcases Cultural Heritage at Saudi International Handicrafts Week

Riyadh: Jordan, through the Ministry of Culture, is participating in the third Saudi International Handicrafts Week, known as Banan 2025, which has commenced in Riyadh. The event, inaugurated by the Saudi Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, features over 400 craftspeople from more than 40 countries worldwide.

According to Jordan News Agency, the event, running from November 13 to 26, aims to support and empower artisans economically and culturally, while promoting cultural exchange through traditional arts and crafts. Diala Kassab, Head of the Heritage Programs Department at the Ministry of Culture's Heritage Directorate, emphasized that Jordan's participation underscores the Ministry's dedication to promoting Jordanian cultural heritage and national crafts.

Kassab, who is overseeing the Jordanian pavilion, noted that the ministry places significant importance on these exhibitions as they enhance the presence of Jordanian crafts in regional and global markets. Such events also promote handmade products that empower craftspeople. She highlighted the ministry's efforts to advance Jordan's crafts sector through international participation, training programs, and marketing initiatives supporting the sustainability of traditional crafts across the Kingdom.

Additionally, Kassab underscored the ministry's commitment to opening new horizons for Jordanian artisans via international platforms, enabling skill development and exchange of expertise with global counterparts. The Jordanian pavilion showcases a variety of traditional crafts and handmade products that reflect the cultural heritage of Jordan.
