Amman: The Jordanian-Algerian Parliamentary Brotherhood Committee conducted a remote meeting on Tuesday, led by MP Ayman Abu Haniya, alongside Daqla Azhar, Head of the Algerian-Jordanian Brotherhood Parliamentary Group, and its members. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between the two nations.
According to Jordan News Agency, Abu Haniya commended the robust Jordanian-Algerian relations, emphasizing their foundation on mutual respect. He underscored the need for ongoing bilateral coordination in international forums, particularly concerning issues of shared interest. Additionally, Abu Haniya highlighted the challenges Jordan faces in hosting large numbers of refugees, which have impacted the country's infrastructure and services, while reaffirming Jordan's dedication to its humanitarian commitments to the Arab people.
The committee emphasized the importance of bolstering joint investment opportunities, addressing obstacles to economic and trade cooperation, and implementing existing agreements. They also reiterated the significance of Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian holy sites.
The Algerian representatives praised Jordan's leadership, under King Abdullah II, in supporting Arab causes, particularly the Palestinian issue. They stressed the need to enhance the trade balance and urged taking advantage of investment opportunities in both countries. The group reaffirmed their firm stance against the displacement of Palestinians and supported their right to establish an independent state on their national soil.
