Jordanian ICT Companies at the Forefront of Digital Transformation

Amman: Representative of the ICT sector at the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Haitham Rawajbeh, highlighted the extensive expertise and capabilities of Jordanian companies in providing innovative software solutions to aid the Kingdom's digital transformation and advancements in technological services and artificial intelligence.

According to Jordan News Agency, Rawajbeh emphasized the significant support and continuous attention from His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein as crucial elements for strengthening the ICT sector. This support encourages companies to innovate and provide solutions that bolster the national economy.

Rawajbeh noted that Jordan's digital transformation over recent years represents an advanced model at the regional level. This transformation has played a pivotal role in developing various economic and service sectors, enhancing Jordan's competitiveness, and creating an attractive environment for technological investment.

The presence of Jordanian companies in foreign markets is strong, with exports reaching more than 60 countries worldwide. This reflects the capabilities of the Jordanian workforce in the information technology sector. Emphasis is being placed on the information technology sector to generate more job opportunities for youth and support the national economy during the transition to a digital economy, as outlined by the Economic Modernization Vision (EMV).

Rawajbeh added that the EMV has set ambitious goals for the ICT sector, including increasing sector revenues to JD3.9 billion by 2033, boosting employment to 101,000, and raising exports to JD4.5 billion. Jordan's infrastructure, resources, and qualified human resources offer promising opportunities for the development of the technology system in many Arab countries.

The Kingdom is noted globally for its focus on academic specializations offered by universities, which cover most areas of the sector and align with global advancements in technology, Rawajbeh concluded.
