Jordanian Military Conducts Sixth Medical Evacuation of Gaza Child Patients

Amman: The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army successfully carried out the sixth medical evacuation operation for child patients from Gaza, facilitating the transfer of 23 young patients and 47 family members under the Jordan Medical Corridor initiative.

According to Jordan News Agency, nineteen of the evacuated children will receive medical treatment in Jordanian private hospitals, accompanied by 40 family members. Additionally, four patients will be transferred to Trkiye for their medical needs, along with seven accompanying relatives. This operation is part of an international collaboration supporting Jordan's humanitarian efforts.

The Jordanian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO) played a crucial role in coordinating the evacuation of patients and their families. Since the inception of the medical corridor initiative, a total of 77 children and 169 family members have been evacuated to Jordan by both land and air.

Jordan remains committed to evacuating more child patients from Gaza and aims to expedite the process. However, technical and logistical challenges faced by the WHO and Israeli restrictions pose significant limitations. The Jordan Medical Corridor initiative, launched in March following Royal directives, underscores the Kingdom's ongoing commitment to supporting the people of Gaza.
