Jordan’s Crucial Humanitarian Efforts in Gaza Recognized by UNRWA

AMMAN: Jordan has been recognized for its significant role in providing humanitarian aid to Gaza in 2024, a role that continues to be of paramount importance, according to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). Adnan Abu Hasna, a media advisor for UNRWA, highlighted Jordan's contributions in a statement, emphasizing the nation's swift and pioneering efforts to support the Palestinian people during critical times.

According to Jordan News Agency, Abu Hasna noted that Jordan has dispatched thousands of aid-laden trucks to Gaza, ensuring the delivery of essential supplies to the region. The nation's commitment was further exemplified by its establishment of field hospitals, which have been operational since their inception. Additionally, Jordan has played a vital role in offering medical treatment to wounded Palestinians in its hospitals, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to humanitarian assistance.

The advisor underscored Jordan's influence in humanitarian and relief operations, attributing significant credit to His Majesty King Abdullah II. The King has been active in supporting UNRWA's mission, particularly in countering efforts that aim to undermine the agency's work. Jordan's diplomatic initiatives have been instrumental in sustaining UNRWA's activities, and its efforts have been crucial in addressing systematic campaigns against the agency.
