Amman: Jordan's exports to European Union markets have witnessed a significant increase, rising by 49.3% in the first four months of 2026. According to Jordan News Agency, this rise highlights the competitiveness of Jordanian products in global markets. Official statistics indicate that the value of Jordanian exports to EU countries has reached JD218 million, compared to JD146 million during the same period last year. Mohammed Samadi, Chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (EuroCham), stated that this growth is a positive indicator of the success of new trends aimed at expanding export scopes and leveraging opportunities within the European market. Samadi emphasized that the increase reflects efforts by both Jordan's public and private sectors to enhance the presence of Jordanian products in Europe. He pointed out that the growth demonstrates the quality of Jordanian products and their ability to meet European demand, particularly in the industrial, food, pharmaceutical, and chemical secto rs, which hold promising opportunities for EU market penetration. Samadi noted the importance of the European Union as one of Jordan's key trading partners and highlighted the complexity of diversifying economic and trade relations with such a significant trade bloc. He urged for strengthened efforts to promote Jordanian products in these markets and to take advantage of changes in global supply chains. Looking ahead, Samadi called for enhanced collaboration between the public and private sectors to support Jordanian exporters. He stressed the need to streamline trade procedures, develop logistics services, and reduce production and export costs to boost the competitiveness of national companies, expand into European markets, and positively impact the national economy and foreign trade balance, while creating job opportunities for Jordanians.
