Amman: The Kingdom's industrial sector exports grew by 6.6% from the beginning of this year until the end of July, demonstrating the Jordanian industry's capacity to address challenges, according to statistical data from the Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI). According to Jordan News Agency, the data indicated that industrial sector exports rose during this period to JD4.801 billion, compared to JD4.481 billion during the same period last year, making up 91% of total national exports. This growth contributed to reducing the Kingdom's trade deficit and enhancing the industrial contribution to the national economy. The data highlighted growth in nine industrial sub-sectors, with the construction industries sector experiencing the fastest increase at 86%, while the wood and furniture industries sector saw a decline of 13%. Exports primarily focused on the chemical and cosmetics industries at JD1.065 billion, leather and textiles at JD1.032 billion, and engineering and electrical industries at JD881 million. Ke y exports included clothing products, nitrogenous or chemical fertilizers, pharmaceutical preparations, phosphates, potash, soap, washing powders, and electrical appliances. The industrial exports were directed to several foreign and Arab countries, primarily India, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Italy, and Serbia.
