Amman: Chairman of Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC), Mohammad Thneibat, engaged in discussions with Rwandan Ambassador Urujeni Bakuramutsa regarding potential collaboration in the phosphate fertilizer industry. They explored ways to address the requirements of the Rwandan Ministry of Agriculture and the markets in East African countries.
According to Jordan News Agency, Thneibat emphasized JPMC’s openness to global markets and its aim to diversify partnerships to strengthen its presence and competitiveness in the international fertilizer market. He conveyed the company’s readiness to collaborate with Rwanda, either through partnership in the phosphate fertilizer industry or through a long-term agreement to supply Rwanda with its phosphate fertilizer needs.
Thneibat also expressed the company’s willingness to partner with Rwanda in mining phosphate ores for manufacturing purposes and to establish joint projects with relevant authorities from both countries, following a request from the ambassador.
Ambassador Bakuramutsa highlighted the strong bilateral relations between the two nations and stressed Rwanda’s commitment to developing these ties to serve mutual interests. She expressed her readiness to facilitate meetings between stakeholders in Rwanda’s phosphate fertilizer sector, particularly the Ministry of Agriculture and JPMC, to explore the establishment of a joint partnership and leverage Jordanian expertise in this field.
Bakuramutsa also commended Jordan’s advancements in phosphate fertilizer production and manufacturing, describing her visit to JPMC headquarters as constructive and foundational for further cooperation.
