Amman: Jordan Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund (JREEEF) at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources held an expanded meeting Thursday, with the sector's energy auditing companies. The JREEEF Executive Director, Rasmi Hamza, praised these companies' efforts and their role in supporting the National Program for Energy Efficiency in the Industrial Sector, implemented by the fund since 2016.
According to Jordan News Agency, Hamza noted JREEEF's vision under the rationing program, aiming to enhance market dynamism, expand companies in the sector, increase investment volume, and create permanent job opportunities. JREEEF continues to provide financial and technical incentives to achieve these goals. Last year, JREEEF implemented over 100 energy auditing studies at an estimated cost of JD1 million, financed under the fund's grants to the industrial sector.
Hamza emphasized the importance of program expansion, praising the partnership with the Jordan Chamber of Industry, international donor projects, and activities. He noted the intention to expand the program to other sectors, including hospitals, hotels, and government buildings, to enhance market activity and investment opportunities for energy efficiency.
For the year 2025, JREEEF plans to implement training programs for engineers in energy auditing. During the meeting, participants discussed mechanisms for expanding the program, ensuring quality studies, and investing their results as projects to improve energy efficiency in factories and production lines, according to an Energy Ministry statement.
The statement highlighted efforts to reduce costs and emissions and increase competitiveness using the fund's support, which includes grants for energy auditing studies and finance loans to implement study outputs. Participants agreed to enhance study outputs and increase work teams by recruiting new competencies in companies.
