Amman: Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs Secretary-General Abdullah Kanaan said on Monday that Jordanian constants on Palestine and Jerusalem are obvious to all, top of which is a tireless diplomacy and political engagement at various local, regional, and international levels.

According to Jordan News Agency, Kanaan highlighted in an interview with Petra the Kingdom's relief and humanitarian efforts in Gaza, as well as the Hashemites' historic custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. He mentioned that His Majesty King Abdullah II recently updated former prime ministers on regional developments, including his visit to New York, to inform the political elite, the public, and the Jordanian media about current developments and Jordan's approach.

Kanaan emphasized that the approach guiding successive Jordanian governments includes a commitment to defending Palestine and Jerusalem and the rights of its people, and preserving its Islamic and Christian holy sites. The King's recent meeting was part of a series of diplomatic engagements, including participation in an international conference on the two-state solution and the 80th UN General Assembly session.

Kanaan noted that His Majesty held significant meetings with global leaders, including UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres in New York, where he appealed for peace and urged countries to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. He stated that the King's meeting with former premiers reinforced Jordan's message of renaissance and the Hashemite call for global peace.

Kanaan affirmed that Jordan's commitment to its historical legacy and efforts for occupied Palestine are crucial, especially amid current regional developments and the challenges faced by Palestinians. He reiterated that Jordanian diplomacy, led by His Majesty the King, remains a pillar of strength for the Arab nation's security and its key issues, particularly the Palestinian cause.
