Riyadh: His Majesty King Abdullah II on Monday urged Arab and friendly nations to contribute to establishing a humanitarian bridge to break the ongoing siege on Gaza and deliver much-needed emergency aid to the region, which is currently experiencing a humanitarian crisis. Speaking at the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit, hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the King emphasized the urgency of ending aggression and preventing further escalation in the region. According to Jordan News Agency, King Abdullah II highlighted in his address the necessity for immediate actions to halt the war on Gaza and Lebanon, protect innocent lives, and prevent the region from spiraling into a broader conflict. He stressed that the international community's inability to stop Israel's actions against Gaza has resulted in increased aggression towards Palestinians in the West Bank, as well as violations of religious sites in Jerusalem. The King articulated his concerns about the ongoing conflicts by stating, "We don't want words; we want serious positions and tangible efforts to end the tragedy, save people in Gaza, and provide the assistance they need." He also called upon the international community to take a decisive stand to prevent further humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and to work towards an immediate ceasefire. King Abdullah II's speech underscored the importance of breaking the siege on Gaza to end the humanitarian disaster and stopping the escalation in the West Bank. He advocated for supporting Lebanon's sovereignty and security, ending the war, and providing necessary aid to the Lebanese people. Additionally, he emphasized the need for a genuine political solution to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution as a pathway to achieving peace and stability in the region. The summit, organized at a critical time for the region, saw the Jordanian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, supporting the King's call for urgent international intervention and support.
