Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II departed for Egypt on Monday to lead the Jordanian delegation at the Sharm El Sheikh Summit for Peace.
According to Jordan News Agency, the summit is co-chaired by Egypt President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi and United States President Donald Trump. World leaders are convening as part of efforts to address the conflict in Gaza and work towards peace, stability, and security in the region.
The Jordanian delegation accompanying King Abdullah II includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, as well as Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh.
In the King's absence, His Royal Highness Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein has been sworn in as Regent, with the ceremony attended by Cabinet members.
