Ministry Completes Maintenance on Key Baghdad International Road Section

Amman: The Ministry of Public Works and Housing teams have completed maintenance on a three-kilometer stretch of the Baghdad International Road between Al-Shubeika and Al-Ashqaf, the ministry said on Saturday.

According to Jordan News Agency, the works included milling and resurfacing with two asphalt layers of 7 and 6 centimeters, road markings, installation of traffic safety elements, and other construction and technical works carried out to international standards. The project cost JD775,000 ($1.1 million).

The ministry stated that the project is part of a nationwide maintenance plan aimed at rehabilitating infrastructure and enhancing traffic safety through reflective paint, road studs, and other measures. These efforts are intended to improve efficiency, service levels, and road safety while ensuring long-term sustainability.

It was added that new maintenance will soon begin on another five-kilometer stretch of the Baghdad International Road in Safawi as part of a broader package of projects in the northern region, which includes parts of the Zarqa-Mafraq and Amman-Jerash-Irbid roads.

The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to improving road infrastructure across the Kingdom to boost safety and strengthen the national road network.
