National Team Defeat Egypt 3-0 in Final Arab Cup Group Stage Match

Doha: The Jordanian national football team clinched a decisive 3-0 victory over Egypt on Tuesday evening in the third round of Group C at the 2025 Arab Cup in Qatar. The match was played in front of a large crowd and featured high-intensity competition from the opening whistle.

According to Jordan News Agency, the national team opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Mohammad Abu Hashish pounced on a loose ball inside the penalty area and calmly slotted it home. In the 40th minute, Mohammad Abu Zureiq (Sharara) doubled the lead after a well-constructed attacking move, finishing with a powerful shot. In the second half, Ali Alwan sealed the win from the penalty spot, reinforcing Jordan's dominance throughout the match.

Jordan started the game with a lineup that included: Nour Bani Attia, Hadi Hourani, Salim Obeid, Ali Hajji, Issam Smeiri, Rajai Ayed, Ibrahim Saadeh, Mohammad Abu Hashish, Mohammad Abu Zureiq, Ahmad Ersan, and Awda Fakhoury. Substitutes Ali Alwan, Mahmoud Mardi, and Abdullah Nassib entered the match in the second half.

The national team delivered a disciplined and cohesive performance, maintaining control of the match and effectively neutralising Egypt's attempts, ultimately preserving a clean sheet. With this victory, Jordan topped Group C with nine points, advancing to the next round. The UAE finished second with four points. The win underscores Jordan's readiness and determination to continue competing strongly in the tournament as the team looks ahead to upcoming challenges with confidence and ambition.
