Amman: The Palestinian Foreign Minister, Farsin Aghabekian Shahin, engaged in high-level discussions with Badr Abdel-Aty, Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, concerning the latest situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and strategies for enhanced joint coordination and communication.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the Arab Ministerial Committee meeting in Amman, Jordan, which is tasked with confronting illegal Israeli policies in occupied Jerusalem. Minister Shaheen emphasized the commitment of the Palestinian leadership to ensure the resilience of the Palestinian people on their land and to counter displacement efforts. She called for proactive measures by Arab and Islamic countries to influence the U.S. administration's stance, thereby protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the Palestinian people.
The discussions also focused on intensifying joint efforts to halt extermination and displacement activities, protect the Palestinian population, and bolster the Palestinian political stance. Minister Abdel-Aty reiterated Egypt's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause, underlining the unity of Palestinian territories and the urgency for the Palestinian government to assume responsibilities in Gaza. He strongly rejected Israeli plans to separate Gaza from the West Bank, highlighting the implications for Egyptian national security.
