Palestinian President and Jordanian King Discuss Israeli Aggression

Amman: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met with King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein in Amman, alongside Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, where they engaged in discussions on recent developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and international actions.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the leaders focused on topics including the Israeli aggression against Qatar. They condemned the attack and emphasized the necessity of supporting Qatar and implementing deterrent measures against Israel within the framework of Arab-Islamic consultations to prevent future incidents. Additionally, they explored ways to enhance the fraternal relations between their nations and foster development across various fields.

President Abbas acknowledged Jordan’s significant role in halting Israeli aggression against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem. He highlighted Jordan’s efforts to facilitate humanitarian aid into Gaza and prevent displacement.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation to bolster the Palestinian position in ending the occupation in line with international legitimacy resolutions and laws. They also discussed strategies to achieve broader recognition of the State of Palestine and its pursuit of full United Nations membership.

The meeting included key figures such as Ziad Abu Amr from the Palestine Liberation Organization, Diplomatic Advisor Majdi Khalidi, and Palestinian Ambassador to Jordan Atallah Khairy. On the Jordanian side, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi and Director of the King’s Office Alaa Batayneh were present.
