The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Al-Sudani, directed the security forces to protect all public and private property.
The Spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool, said in a statement that while the government renews its commitment to protecting constitutional practices, including the right to peaceful demonstration, which was embodied in popular activities and demonstrations condemning the repeated abuses and abuses of the Holy Quran and the symbol of the state, the Iraqi flag, it affirmed, at the same time, that the use of the constitutional right does not allow transgression in all its forms.
He added that the Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, directed the security forces to protect all public and private property, and to emphasize that any practice that deviates from the general framework of freedom of expression, within its constitutionally permitted limits, will be dealt with in accordance with the law, and in a manner that preserves public and private rights.
He continued: On this basis, we call on our people, the peaceful demonstrators, to sort out and diagnose the abusive elements that are trying to divert these demonstrations from their peacefulness and legal legitimacy guaranteed by the constitution.
He stressed that the security sectors, with their various types and specializations, must carry out their national role and sacred duty to protect Iraq and its people, its vital goals, and public and private property, as dictated by the honor and duties of the profession, and national and legal obligations.
