Vision to Teach Partisan Course in Jordan’s Universities, Says MP

Amman: Deputy Chairman of the Lower House Youth, Sports, and Culture Committee, MP Abdul Halim Ananbeh, emphasized the importance of integrating political and party-related culture into the curricula and extracurricular activities of Jordan's universities. This initiative aims to help students engage more effectively in the public landscape.

According to Jordan News Agency, Ananbeh's remarks were made during a meeting held on Wednesday to discuss a proposal for launching a course on party culture in Jordan's universities. This move aligns with the national vision to modernize the Kingdom's political system. Ananbeh highlighted that instilling early political awareness within university curricula and activities is crucial for preparing a generation capable of fulfilling its national and political roles. This initiative seeks to implement the Royal vision, which calls for empowering Jordan's youth and encouraging their active participation in public life.

Meanwhile, Mamoun Debie, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education, noted that the ministry places significant importance on fostering a student-driven partisan culture. This initiative is in line with the political modernization vision led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, which aims to establish an effective party life in Jordan. Debie also mentioned that the ministry has issued legislation to regulate the practice of party activities within Jordan's higher education institutions. Additionally, extracurricular activities are seen as playing a crucial role in consolidating this culture.

Debie further emphasized the need for strengthening cooperation among relevant stakeholders in Jordan's political and party-related affairs. He suggested that various events for politicians and university students should be launched to raise awareness about the role of parties in public life.
