Amman: Minister of Youth Raed Adwan on Monday emphasized the significance of promoting a culture of volunteerism in environmental protection, highlighting the impact of community efforts in preserving natural resources and enhancing green spaces.

According to Jordan News Agency, Adwan referred to the ongoing national campaign against littering, which is organized by the Ministry of Environment in collaboration with public and national institutions. This initiative aims to inspire collective responsibility towards a cleaner and more sustainable environment.

During a meeting with the Director and members of Hareer Leading Organization for Social Development, Adwan reiterated the ministry’s dedication to forming partnerships, supporting youth-driven initiatives, and ensuring these efforts align with the priorities set out in the National Youth Strategy and its action plan. The meeting is part of a series of outreach sessions with youth groups and civil society organizations.

Nihad Dabbas, Director of Hareer, discussed the organization’s volunteer activities centered around sustainable development. These activities include programs that provide social and psychological services to children and the elderly. Dabbas also highlighted environmental projects like the “Our Mark for a Green Environment” campaign, which focuses on tree planting across the Kingdom to bolster Jordan’s green cover.
