Amman: Minister of Government Communication Mohammad Momani sponsored the Jordanian Press Foundation's (Al-Rai) 54th anniversary celebration on Monday. Momani emphasized the importance of transitioning to digital media, acknowledging that while traditional print journalism remains significant, the future lies in digital technology. He assured that the government is committed to supporting this digital transformation.
According to Jordan News Agency, Momani highlighted Al-Rai's efforts to keep pace with technological advancements, noting that the newspaper has taken tangible steps to enhance its digital presence. He also recognized the efforts of other daily newspapers towards digital innovation. Momani discussed the importance of nurturing a new generation of journalists skilled in digital content creation, commending Al-Rai's initiatives to improve its visual identity on digital platforms.
Momani remarked that digital media has become a crucial revenue stream for press outlets today. He addressed the challenges faced by the media landscape, emphasizing the responsibility of institutions like Al-Rai to provide professional and truthful content that counters rumors and fosters societal awareness, all while upholding national values.
Reflecting on Al-Rai's historical contributions, Momani stated that the newspaper has been a testament to major achievements, modernization, and reform, consistently supporting Jordan's values under Hashemite leadership.
During the celebration, Momani also inaugurated Al-Rai's new Digital Production Centre. The facility includes specialized units for managing websites, social media platforms, and video production, all aimed at producing digital content that meets contemporary media standards.
