Manama, Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maada, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, today received Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al Rabiah, Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, who is on an official visit to the kingdom.

Minister Al Maawda affirmed the depth of the solid long-standing Bahraini-Saudi relations, hailing the steady progress of bilateral ties at all levels thanks to the unwavering interest of the two countries’ leaderships.

He asserted that based on the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the High Committee for Hajj and Umrah Affairs is keen to align its work with the Saudi Hajj and Umrah Ministry, according to its new strategy, adding that it has already begun preparing for the Hajj season 1445 AH soon after the end of the last Hajj season through a series of preparatory meetings between the two countries’ ministries.

An extended Bahraini-Saudi meeting, attended by the two ministers, was held. It discussed areas of cooperation and coordination in the field of Hajj and Umrah as well as ways to strengthen joint work mechanisms within the framework of early preparations for the next Hajj season.

The Bahraini side included representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Interior Ministry, the Health Ministry, the Information and e-Government Authority and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority.

Meanwhile, the Saudi delegation comprised representatives from the Ministry of the Interior, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the King Fahd Causeway Authority, the Saudi Tourism Authority, the Guests of God Service Programme, Saudia (Saudi Airlines), Flynas and Tashir Company.

The Justice Minister lauded the comprehensive development plan recently launched by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, noting that the early organisation of pilgrims’ registration procedures will reflect positively on the quality of services delivered to Hajj pilgrims.

He expressed deepest thanks and gratitude to the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the distinguished care and services enjoyed by Bahraini pilgrims, in particular, and their counterparts from other countries, in general.

He commended Saudi Arabia’s pioneering initiatives and efforts to develop Hajj and Umrah services, the most prominent of which is the “Nusuk” platform.
