Amman: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi announced on Sunday that Jordan was not involved in the arrangements for the Gaza prisoner swap deal. However, the Kingdom has expressed its support for the agreement, emphasizing the necessity for its full implementation, the strengthening of the ceasefire, and the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid throughout the Gaza Strip.
According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi clarified that Jordan prioritizes its own interests, principles, and citizens. In a statement posted on X, he confirmed that Jordan will not prevent the entry of its two nationals who were released as part of the prisoner swap deal. "They will be allowed to enter the Kingdom if they choose to leave Palestine for Jordan," he stated.
The announcement reflects Jordan's stance on maintaining its sovereignty while supporting peace and humanitarian efforts in the region. The Kingdom's decision ensures the safe return of its citizens while continuing to back the broader objectives of the ceasefire and humanitarian aid in Gaza.
