Amman: The volume of foreign funding approved by the Cabinet for Jordanian associations, non-profit companies, cooperative associations, and unions reached JD45.5 million from January through October. This funding supported the implementation of 322 projects, including JD1.44 million allocated for five projects outside the Kingdom in Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip. According to Jordan News Agency, 57.1 percent of the funding was granted to associations registered with the Associations Registry, 40.4 percent went to non-profit companies, and 1.9 percent was provided to other institutions, while cooperative associations received less than 1 percent of the total funding. Specifically, 136 associations received JD26 million for 214 projects, with an average project funding of JD121.4 thousand. Meanwhile, 68 non-profit companies received JD18.4 million for 97 projects, averaging JD191,500 per project. Additionally, three institutions outside of these categories received JD869,500 for five projects, while three coo perative societies received JD300.3 thousand for six projects, with an average funding of JD173,900 and JD50.1 thousand, respectively. The primary focus areas of foreign funding this year included social protection, youth, education, and economic development. Social protection received the highest allocation at JD9.1 million, or 19.9 percent, followed by youth initiatives with JD6.97 million (15.3 percent), education with JD3.6 million (8 percent), and economic development with JD3.336 million (7.3 percent). Sectors such as information technology, infrastructure, tourism, and water received lower priority. The United States was the largest donor, contributing 34.4 percent of the funding, followed by Germany at 10.7 percent, Britain at 9.5 percent, and international organizations and institutions at 7.5 percent.
