Gaza Government Media Office Warns of Escalating Humanitarian Catastrophe

Gaza: The Government Media Office in Gaza expressed deep concern on Tuesday over the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, citing Israel's ongoing blockade and systematic starvation tactics. For 80 consecutive days, Israeli authorities have reportedly prevented the entry of food, medical supplies, and fuel.

According to Jordan News Agency, the office stated in a press release that since March 2, 2025, Israel has not permitted a single humanitarian aid or fuel truck into Gaza. During this period, there is an urgent need for at least 44,000 aid trucks to meet residents' basic survival needs, yet all crossings remain completely sealed. The office labeled this situation as "a flagrant violation of international laws and norms, in full view of the global community."

The statement outlined severe humanitarian consequences of the blockade over the past 80 days, including 58 deaths attributed to malnutrition and 242 deaths due to a lack of food and medicine, mostly affecting the elderly. Additionally, 26 kidney patients died due to the absence of adequate nutritional and medical support. More than 300 miscarriages were recorded among pregnant women due to a lack of essential nutrients.

The statement also reported the failure of multiple blood donation campaigns, as citizens' poor physical condition rendered them unable to donate. Meanwhile, hospitals are facing a critical shortage of blood units amid an influx of injured individuals in urgent need of surgery.

The office stressed that Gaza requires the daily entry of at least 500 aid trucks and 50 fuel trucks to sustain its vital and medical infrastructure.
