Geopolitical Crisis Prompts ‘Necessary’ Missile Tests, North Korean Leader States

Pyongyang: North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un has declared that recent missile tests are 'necessary' due to 'the recent geopolitical crisis and complicated international events.' Kim's statement follows North Korea's launch of hypersonic missiles from the Ryokpho district of Pyongyang Municipality, targeting areas northeast at a distance of 1,000 kilometers.

According to Anadolu Agency - English, the North Korean missile launch took place after the United States conducted a pre-dawn raid in Venezuela, resulting in the capture of its president and first lady, who were subsequently transported to New York. Kim emphasized that the missile launch demonstrated the completion of a 'very important technology task for national defense' and showcased the readiness of North Korea's nuclear forces.

Kim further remarked on recent progress in establishing North Korea's nuclear capabilities on a practical level, preparing them for potential conflict. He underscored the importance of continuously enhancing military capabilities, particularly offensive weapon systems, as part of North Korea's strategic objectives.

Kim acknowledged that the missile activity aims to advance the country's nuclear war deterrent capabilities. He reiterated that these actions are driven by the current geopolitical crisis and intricate international developments, which he perceives as necessitating such military advancements.
